Misinformation is everywhere these days.

Thanks to a combination of biased broadcasters and social-media screwballs, the truth is often buried beneath a barrage of conspiracy theories.

But while there seems to be a high number of them right now, nutcases who peddle this sort of nonsense have always been around.

And some of these conspiracy theories are so ridiculous that only the dumbest of individuals could possibly fall for them.

1. Lewis Carroll Was Jack the Ripper

Jack the Ripper is the most notorious serial killer in British history. In 1888, this bloodthirsty murderer (whose identity remains unknown) butchered several prostitutes in an area of London known as Whitechapel.

Naturally, there have been many theories over the years, and one of the most ridiculous involves the author and mathematician Lewis Carroll, who is best known for penning Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865).
