Odd disappearances, bizarre deaths, and suspicious circumstances have always been a fascinating part of human history. Though many people have tried to explain these chilling mysteries, chances are the truth will never be discovered.

1. The Curse of the Mary Celeste

The Mary Celeste was an American merchant ship constructed in 1860. The ship endured many misadventures during the first ten years of her life, including two collisions, a fire, and a near-fatal wreck. But the Mary Celeste didn’t become infamous until 1872.
