In November 2022, I published my first book on Amazon KDP. I’d spent hundreds of hours researching, drafting, and editing, but it made no difference:

Sales were (almost) non-existent.

Since then, I’ve published five more books and seen a significant uptick in passive income, with sales tripling in the last year. While I still consider this business to be a side hustle, I’m confident it will grow into something much bigger.

If you’re looking for some genuine, no-nonsense advice about Amazon KDP, this article will provide you with some valuable insights.

You must have startup capital

Whenever someone claims they’ve built a business with zero investment, I immediately roll my eyes. This is terrible advice for any entrepreneur.

Publishing on Amazon is very competitive. If you want to make sales, you need to be better than the bulk of your competition. Without investment, you have no chance of doing this. Here’s a pair of examples to demonstrate my point:
