Queen Victoria is one of Britain’s most beloved monarchs. After being crowned at the tender age of eighteen, she breathed new life into British royalty, changing the negative image that her predecessors had left behind.

But her firstborn son was completely different. Prince Edward grew up to be a vain, pleasure-seeking man who loved to misbehave. Sinful misadventures dominated his colorful lifestyle, and he is now considered one of the most infamous royals in British history.

A Troublesome Child

The young prince was born on the 9th of November 1841. Though the opening years of his life were drenched in luxury and privilege, things started to go wrong when he began his formal education at the age of seven.

Edward hated academic work. He was taught by private tutors, and they all struggled to control him. When Edward was forced to do something he didn’t like, he would scream, bite, spit, and kick his way into a furious tantrum.
